PDA Revisited

After working on a freebie gig my friend was shooting, I started to seriously considered putting something together. Nothing fancy, just something small and doable. So I decided to fire up the trusty old Final Draft and take a look at some of my old scripts. Back in 2005, I wrote a short play called PDA (Private Displays of Affliction) that was produced at Bindlestiff Studio’s Valentine’s Show called The Love Edition. Since then, I’ve tinkered with converting it into a short film. It’s gone through three official revisions since the stage play – each version with less of the banter and playfulness. That was tough for me because I LOVE writing dialogue. I get a kick out of exploring what people would say to each other – what inspires them to act and react in certain ways and the words they would use. (more…)
